English Version

Belinda Crawford Camiciottoli is a tenured researcher of English Language at the Faculty of Economics and member of the Department of Linguistics of the University of Florence. She holds a PhD (cum laude) and Interuniversity Diploma of Advanced Studies (DEA) in Applied Linguistics from Universitat Jaume I, Departamento de Estudios Ingleses, Castellón de la Plana, Spagna. She received her M.Ed from Framingham State College (Framingham, MA) and B.MEd. from Florida State University (Tallahassee, FL).
In 2005, she was a visiting lecturer at Universitat Jaume I, Castellón de la Plana, Spagna. In 2002, she was the recipient of the Morley Scholarship for Studies in Second Language Learning and Teaching and spent two months carrying out research at the English Language Institute of the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, MI). From 2001 to 2003, she served as online business writing tutor for Columbia University, New York, NY.
Her current research focuses mainly on academic and professional discourse related to the area of business, with particular reference to business studies lectures and ICT-mediated corporate communication. She has participated in several interuniversity research projects co-financed by the Italian Ministry of University Research as a member of the Florence research unit:
She has published in leading international journals including Journal of Pragmatics, English for Specific Purposes, Journal of English for Academic Purposes, Journal of Research in Reading and Reading in a Foreign Language, which she has also served as referee.
She is a member of AIA (Associazione Italiana di Anglistica), ESSE (European Society of Studies of English) e ABC (Association for Business Communication).
